Netpia, a Korean company specializing in next general internet address systems, announced that it has won the suit filed by Digital Names regarding Netpia’s patent regarding the method of processing Korean internet addresses in the post-Internet Explorer 7.0 environments.
According to a statement made by Netpia, since Internet Explorer 5.0 Microsoft has found a way to connect brand names that are entered into the address box to searching Microsoft.
Netpia had acquired a patent at issue in order to overcome such a ‘problem.’ The use of Netpia’s patent allows typing in Korean addresses into the address box without making any changes in the browser environment not only for post-Internet Explorer 7.0 environments but also for Firefox and Chrome.
