Disclosed herein are a surface type heating element and a roll screen type home sauna apparatus. The surface type heating element includes rayon-based carbon yarn emitting resistance heat, metal yarn having an antibacterial/anti-fungal function, and transparent synthetic resin film serving to admit sufficient illumination, wherein the rayon-based carbon yarn, the metallic yarn, and the transparent synthetic resin film are laid adjacent to each other, and are interwoven with polyester yarn. Further, a radiation coating layer, containing the mixture of ore powder and far infrared radiating material is applied to a surface of the heating element, and the heat blocking coating layer is applied to the other surface of the heating element. Upper portions of strands of the rayon-based carbon yarn are connected to a power supply line, and lower portions of strands of the rayon-based carbon yarn are connected via a common connection part.
