The present invention relates to a toothbrush comprising a bristle portion (1) adapted to be movable downwardly to effectively remove plagues remaining in the back surfaces of the fore teeth and the lower teeth, and plagues formed on tooth surfaces or between the teeth due to non-uniformity of the height or width of each tooth. The toothbrush comprises a grip portion (6) having an adjustment bar (4) for preventing the bristle portion from being bent downwardly beyond a predetermined angle, and a round-shaped supporter (5) engaged with a round-shaped engagement opening (3) of the bristle portion for preventing the bristle portion from being separated from the grip portion. The bristle portion of the toothbrush comprises a rectangular-shaped engagement recess (2) with which the adjustment bar (4) is engaged and the round-shaped engagement opening (3) with which the round-shaped supporter (5) is engaged. Thus, the present invention features that the bristle portion and the grip portion of a toothbrush can be detachably engaged with each other at the time of replacing the bristle portion or the grip portion.
