Thank you for your e-mail dated February 25, 2003 regarding the recordal of assignment of trademark in Korea.

For recordal of assignment, the following documents are required. Please inform us of the name and address of the Assignor and the Assignee as well as the trademark registration no. (or application no.) in order for us to draft and send you the forms of the necessary documents :

i) A Deed of Assignment which should be executed by the representative of the assignor and the assignee, respectively, and notarized.
ii) A Power of Attorney which should be executed by the representative of the assignor and the assignee, respectively. (Notarization or legalization is not required)
iii) A Certificate of Corporate Nationality which should be executed by the representative of the assignor and the assignee, respectively, and notarized.

Our estimated costs for the procedure of recordal of assignment for a registered trademark are US$600.00 including the official fee of US$94.00, our attorney¡¯s fee of US$500 and disbursements, and we offer you a discount of 20% on our attorney¡¯s fee, and therefore, the total costs for the recordal of the assignment for a registered trademark is US$500.00. As for the recordal of assignment for a pending trademark, the estimated costs are US$200.00 including the official fee of US$10.00, our attorney¡¯s fee of US$180 and disbursements.

Please be advised that the recordal of assignment to the Korean Intellectual Property Office is completed within two (2) weeks, and we will send you a confirmation document from the KIPO showing the assignment as soon as we receive it from the KIPO.

Upon receiving from you further instructions, we will promptly proceed with the necessary steps.
