The pan-government intellectual property control tower ‘National Intellectual Property Committee’ with the Prime Minister and civilian specialist as co-chairpersons will be found in July.
A support system provided by specialists is being established so that corporations can respond to global patent disputes in an efficient and effective manner.
The ‘Intellectual Property Basic Law’ that integrates intellectual property-related policies and promotes intellectual property as the new paradigm of national development was passed on 29 April and will be effective starting mid-July.
Accordingly, the government will integrate various patents and intellectual properties so that they can be protected and utilized.
To do so, it will establish the ‘National Intellectual Property Basic Plan’ containing the policy goals and direction of the new organization.
Furthermore, the National Intellectual Property Committee will be found so that it can control, plan, and adjust the intellectual property policies.
Creation of such an organization and plans will create a system for responding to global patent disputes, manage corporations’ intellectual properties, and establish various support systems for efficient and professional responses to IP disputes.
