Subject : Win4net Acquires Patent on Photographing Image Processing System
Date 2010-11-29 Visit 4136

Technology that arbitrarily deletes images such as snow, rain, birds, and insects and efficiently monitors images has been developed in surveillance cameras.

Win4net (CEO, Oh-eon Kwon) announced that they acquired patent (Patent No. 10-2008-0110305) on ¡®photographing image processing system and method for sensing trespass and fire in buildings¡¯ which remove images of non-specific objects from images of surveillance cameras.

In this patent, a background image and an image to be sensed, such as people or objects, are each separated in an image of a surveillance camera. Moving object images such as snow, rain, birds, and insects are removed from the background image and then paths of remaining objects to be sensed are tracked. In this regard, the image processing system determines whether to trespass in surveillance areas.

Accordingly, operation failures due to movement of flying birds and insects may be reduced and thus sensing capability of a digital video recorder (DVR) may be improved. In processing of capturing images, the operating speed of the DVR increases.

Win4net said that ¡°a function of the image processing system was applied to a PC-based DVR and a stand-alone type DVR and a test was carried out for about more than six months. As a result, no operation failures occur. We will release new products after applying such a function to them.¡±
