Last year showed a 20% decrease in the intellectual property applications made by large firms in South Korea, continuing the trend for the last three years.
According to a report made by Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) in 19 th January, the total number of intellectual property applications made last year was 353,440, showing a 5.2% decrease from 372,697 cases the previous year.
Large Korean firms especially showed a huge decrease in number of patent applications.
They displayed a drop of 19.5% last year, following drops of 14.3% for years 2007 and 2008. |
