On their official website, Nichia Corporation clarified that there is no agreement, understanding, or arrangement whatsoever, whether express or implied, between Nichia and Seoul Semiconductor relating to the LED market.
They further stated that there are no cooperative marketing arrangements of any sort for the LED.
Nichia explained that “as previously reported, Nichia Corporation and Seoul Semiconductor recently entered into a cross license agreement for their certain patents.
In this connection, there have appeared some news articles reporting or implying the existence of certain cooperative arrangements between Nichia and SSC dealing with the LED market in the world,” and further provided their explanation denying such a deal.
Nichia asserted that it is Nichia’s fundamental company policy to strictly comply with laws and regulations of every relevant country.
Nichia also stated that it is no “comrade” of SSC and will continue to be a competitor.
